Basketball

Basketball is a game played by two teams. Two teams of five players try to score by shooting a ball at a height of 10 feet above the ground. The game is played on a rectangular floor. called the court, and there is a circle at each end. The court is divided into two main sections by the middle court line. If the offensive team puts the ball into play behind the mid-court line, it has ten seconds to move the ball to the mid-court line. If it doesn't, the defense gets the ball.
Once the offensive team gets the ball at the mid-pay line, it can no longer have the ball in the area behind the line. If this happens, the defense is awarded the ball. The ball is moved across the court towards the basket by sidestepping or dribbling. The team with the ball is called the offense. The team without the ball is called the defense. They try to steal the ball, take away competition shots, steal passes, and garner rebounds.

When one team makes a basket, they score two points and the ball goes to the other team. If a basket, or field goal, is made outside a three-point arc, that basket is worth three points. A free throw is worth one point. Free throws are awarded to a team of less than a few firms, which includes half the number of fouls or fouls committed. Fouling to a shooter is always going to be awarded to the shooter in two or three free throws, depending on when he was making the shot. If he was beyond the three-point line, he gets three shots. Free throws are performed until a certain number is reduced by half until other types of inaccuracies result. Once that number was reached, players who were bloated were offered '1-and-1' opportunities. If he makes his first free throw, he attempts a second. If he misses the first shot, the ball is live on the rebar.

Each game is divided into sections. All levels consist of two parts. In the College, each half is twenty minutes long. In high school and below, the halves are divided into eight (and sometimes, six-minute) quarters. In the pros, quarters are twelve minutes long. There is a difference of several minutes between halves. The difference between quarters is relatively small. If the score is tied at the end of regulation, overtime periods of various lengths are played until the winner emerges.

Each team is given a basket or defending goal. This means that the other basket is their scoring basket. Every week, the team changes goals. The game starts with one player from either team in the center of the game. A referee will toss the ball between the two. The player who raises his hand on the ball will tip his teammate. This is called rip-off. Besides stealing the ball from an opposing player, there are other ways for the team to get the ball.
